It was a time when Test Cricket was played among different countries of the world but then a time came when test cricket started losing its popularity and ODI cricket started getting popularity. Keeping in view the craze in the people for ODI cricket, the ICC organized first ODI cricket World Cup in 1975. This tournament is one of the most viewed sporting events and is considered the ”Flagship Event” of the international cricket calendar by the ICC.

International Cricket Council organized First World Cup ODI event in 1975. Since then, it is held after every four years.

After every four years, it was held successfully. First three events were held in England but after that following the rotation policy, it was held in different ”Test Playing Countries” Sharing Hosting between two or among three countries. Ten great events have been held, a few days ago, the eleventh event was planned and held successfully.

Like all the other events, this event was also a great success. It was hosted by Australia and New
Zealand. Fourteen teams participated in the tournament and coloured the event with their great performance. There was a great thrill in the audience on the ground and present at home before TV. matches including the matches between traditional rivals India and Pakistan and Australia and England were played. Semi-finals and finals were great adventures for the teams. In the end, as it is said. “Fortune favours the brave”, the team which played magical cricket during the whole tournament was Australia. It played beautiful and magical cricket and won distinction for their country.

Pakistani team is a great test playing nation in the world. The favourite game of most of Pakistan is cricket. The lovers of cricket were found crazy before and during the great game of cricket show. That’s why the cricket and sports analysts called the cricket fever “uneurablel Fever.” The cricket lovers decorated their grounds and their vehicles with the posters of the Pakistani players. The people enjoyed this event with great enthusiasm. Large screens were arranged in parks where the people assembled to watch and enjoy cricket matches. In cinemas, special arrangements were made where the people enjoyed this event on very cheap packages. So many memorable moments were observed. With the victory of Pakistan, the sweets were distributed. There was a display of fireworks. But whenever Pakistan lost some match, the people became disappointed and accused the
Pakistani players of being a cheater. Not only the Pakistani team but also the other teams which showed some disappointing results were called a cheater.
In the end, I would like to say that like all the other previous tournaments, it was also full of and excitement.

No doubt, the accusation of match-fixing has disfigured this game of cricket but through some strict precautionary measures, this game can be popularized and enjoyed fully.

The ICC must make more efforts for the success of this great event of cricket.

The ICC must make joint efforts with all the test playing and non-test playing nations to tackle and finish the match-fixing.
